I bought a used car this past October and it was warrantied for 6 months/6,000 miles for body work and 12 months/12,000 miles for engine work. So today I dropped it off at the dealership where I got it so they could take a look at a belt noise that I had been experiencing. It was loose, they tightened it, no problem. That should be covered under warranty. But now, they called me to tell me that there's an issue with one of the rear wheelbearings. That's a similar issue to what I had in my last car and the reason why I bought the new one. I'm starting to think that I drive too hard for Toyotas to handle. So now that's not covered under the warranty because I've gone over the 6,000 miles. It's going to cost about $500 to fix between parts and labor. I'm supposed to be moving this weekend. And the wedding is next weekend. I <sarcasm> TOTALLY </sarcasm> have the extra money just lying around to pay for that. *bangs head on keyboard repeatedly*

That sucks. Is there any way they can do a payment plan for you? I know some places will do so as long as you pay it on time.

jorocka I live 45 minutes away from work currently, so that's a no on the bus, but thankfully my mom works in the same area as I do, so I'm able to figure out rides and things with her. ives1013 They mentioned trying to come down on the price a little bit because I'm just out of the warranty and because they know it's my wedding next week, so I'm hoping that will help. Otherwise, I'm hoping they have a payment plan that I can do. It's a small family-owned business, so I'm not sure if I can do that or not.

marygwendolyn I've found that small businesses are a bit more lenient in helping their customers pay for services. Fingers crossed for you.
