So FH is from a VERY traditional family that had three boys and his Mom did all of the cooking/cleaning and worked while his dad worked as well. Cooking/cleaning was always seen as "women's work" to the boys and I decided I didn't plan on living that life. See... I like to enlist the practice that if you cook you don't clean. In the beginning I just did everything because we had just moved into a new place and I wanted my kitchen just so... Then we got crazy busy with harvest (he's a farmer, I worked at a grain elevator) and were each hardly ever home so there really wasn't many dishes or cleaning to worry about. It hit winter and we had been together about 6 months and I found out a little more about this "women's work" idea. Well it's been over 2 years since that first little skirmish about "women's work" and I can confidently say that Kyle now does the dishes every night after dinner and I (generally) don't even mention it! In the past, his mom has said at least you don't have too many dishes generally since it's just you two and when I tell her I don't do them it comes as a HUGE shock!
All I have to say is FH training is REAL! Now if only I could beat it into him how to get his clothes from laying next to the hamper to IN the hamper... Time will tell!

Hehe. I know how that goes. I do most of the housework now because I am in school and FH works all day. But if I have finals or something he cooks and cleans.

If you figure out the clothes IN the hamper thing, please share!! FH is notorious for that and I just can't understand how much more effort it would take to just toss it in the hamper lol

I gave up on the hamper thing. I told FH since he doesn't have time to put his laundry in the hamper I don't have time to wash it.

It's the reverse in my house. My clothes never make it to the hamper. I leave cabinet doors open. I forget to put things away. I'm disorganized as shit. So it's like FH is domesticating me sometimes.

Yep. I'm not the domestic goddess either. Here is a glimpse of the laundry issue. Or at least a symptom of them. His closet. Ocd much? Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk

FH grew up with a stay-at-home mom that is great at taking care of people, so I was a little concerned. But he helps out when I ask him too and we both have the same level of cleanliness so it works.
