Hi all!
I know a bunch of us are trying to lose weight - some for the wedding, some for good. I'm plus-sized (nice euphemism there), but I didn't want to lose weight for my wedding because it was too stressful. And clearly I wasn't in the right mindset (my mom had also just died, and food was too damn comforting).
Now, however, I am ready and in the right mindset. I've been eating relatively clean (I still have chocolate sometimes), working out an hour + a day, and just focused on getting healthy rather than losing weight (I didn't even weigh myself for the first 2 weeks as I focused on changing habits). Well, 84 days later, I'm down 28 pounds, my endurance has improved so that standing on my feet all day doesn't bother me, and I'm enjoying working out now.
So, what is everyone else doing? Any tips for the rest of us?
My tip: start working out slowly. I started 15 minutes a day. Then slowly built it up 15 minutes per day extra each week. Now I'm at 60-90 minutes (broken into two smaller workouts, both at home using DVDS).

I'm doing okay with nutrition. I'm watching my calories but mainly eating less processed stuff and less sugar.
I'm down 11 pounds in about 45 days. I need to get going on working out.

Im down 45 pounds since last March. Really I've been maintaining since the end of September even though I still want to loose another 20lbs. Better to maintain than gain though I guess. FH has also decided to make this lifestyle change and that's helped immensely. He started Feb 2015 and has lost 90lbs. I'm doing ok nutrition wise. I was doing really well at eating clean over the summer, but then eased up a bit. Now I'm just focusing on eating at a calorie deficit. That's been going well. I suck at the workout aspect. I can't figure out a way to motivate myself to regularly workout. Even buying weights so I can lift at home hasn't really motivated me. I think after the wedding, I'm going to have to find an activity or something to do. etex, I may have to try your strategy. It's the getting consistent enough for it to stick that I'm bad at though

I lost about 25 lbs between Sept 2014 and Nov 2015 through watching what I eat and regular workouts. Unfortunately I have chronic knee problems which stopped me from working out since Oct. With the stop in exercise came the lack of watching what I eat so I gained about 5 lbs back.
I've been trying to look for motivation to track my calories again. Working out is a no go for a while since I have to be off my feet for a couple of weeks and after that will have limited mobility.
I'm actually excited by the idea of having some new people to keep me motivated!

I am using myfitnesspal to track what I eat. Last year I was doing 2-a-day workouts training for triathlon season, and after my injury in August (I swear they're not related) I haven't been as dedicated to working out. Upcoming surgery brings a new challenge, as I will be on the couch for 3 weeks. I am a size 10 street size with big hips. I am totally happy with my size and dat ass, I just want to firm everything up a bit. So we'll see how this goes...

I have lost about 25 over thr course of a year. Slow and steady wins the race, right!!?? I hope to lose another 10-15 before my October wedding.
I workout at home and highly recommend a you tube channell called Fitness Blender. They have 400+ videos that range from easy stretching to 1000 calorie workouts.
Nutrition has always been my downfall. I'm hoping to stay consistent with that through the wedding and beyond.

nautibride I'm using MyNetDiary to track my calories. I like it, it breaks down calories, fat, sugar, fiber etc.

My biggest issue is jut remembering to track daily and not eating as much as FH. Seriously, that man gets so many calories in a day and he eats constantly!

I'm a big MFP- technically we have a ww group- but it's dead-er than a doornail. LOL I was the last person to post and I TRIED LOL I really did.
I'm dropping weight- but not for the wedding- I bulked this winter and now I'm cutting. I also joined a weight loss group at work (knowing I would be cutting)- to try to make some extra money- winner would get like 250 roughly. So I'll make a solid effort- I need to drop about 30 pounds to I think really win. But we shall see. I'm down 10 from the height of my bulk at 181... so now the steady crawl toward one 150-155 begins!

I love MyFitnessPal. While the calories and such are nice to track, my favorite feature is the nutrition section - my aim is to get 100%+ of all the good stuff (calcium, iron, etc.) and not near 100% on the bad stuff (sodium and fat). I don't log my exercises, so that helps me keep way under what I'm actually doing in terms of calories in/calories out.

I track all of my food in FitBit , is it transferable to that from MFP? I feel like MFP is more accurate and has more in its database but I don't want to have to log it in two places.

I've dropped 13 in the past couple months. I'm basically not eating bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, and sugar. Not being militant about it. I'd like to lose 30 more by September.

I was on Spark People for a while, but I got sidetracked.
My plan was to start P90X again this week, since it worked wonders for me before. Of course, I'm sick as a dog this morning with my allergies, so that won't be happening this week. But we also weren't able to buy all the food I'm going to need for the week either.
Right now, I'm cutting out coffee (because I use too much flavored creamer and sugar) and soda. I'm drinking tea and water.
Trying to watch my portions, although I usually eat pretty well anyway..I also have to cut my salt intake.
