I started actively trying to lose weight in January. I modified my diet (restricting sugar, dairy, grains), but working out regularly has been a challenge. ive lost about 5lbs, which I know is something but i was hoping for more. Now that most of the major wedding planning is done, im ready to kick my ass into gear.
I bought my dress this weekend and it is NOT forgiving. my ultimate goal is to get back to my weight when i started college...45 pounds ago. but I know its probably not wise to lose that much after having ordered a dress. We ordered my dress a size up....the sample I tried on zipped, but it was tight and the alterations manager felt a new dress would be even tighter so she recommended a bigger size. I've read that for most dresses, you can lose up to 2 sizes without alterations being a total mess. About how much weight should I aim to lose before my first fitting (which will be in September) if my ultimate goal is 45 lbs?

Today, I had 2 7-11 taquitos, a king sized Take 5, leftover shepherd's pie (with lamb!), and a thin mint cheesecake cupcake. I'm probably having a hot dog when I get home...or mac n cheese. Next week! When I'm over my cold,(or allergies...whatever the fuck this is) I can work out!!!

I just started using the Lose It app to track. It sinks with my Fitbit which is handy. And optimistically, I'm aiming to start Couch to 5k when the damn Illinois weather decides to pick a season and stick with it.

Already planning to do better tonight. Chicken breast with asparagus for dinner, and then dance class. I've been drinking ALL the water the last few days...these allergies or whatever have got me SO dehydrated...I cannot get enough water in me.

ugh- I've cut my calories down again- I'm up against a 6 week clock at this point. I was practically none functional with zero brain power today by the end of class. This shit sucks. And that was WITH taking a preworkout after my workout and before dance.
Just- holy crap.
BOOOO FOR CUTTING!!!

I eat really well, but I can't seem to get off my ass and to the gym or any kind of work out. I need to buckle down.

Eating too much and eating the wrong stuff is my downfall. I let my knee problems get me off track with eating because I couldn't work out and was a little depressed. Since October I am up 8 lbs, 5 in the last 2 weeks. I'm trying to get myself to track my food again. I still cant work out until my knee is fully healed. Any advice for staying motivated?

Get plugged in with the community in whatever tracking site you are using (did you know mfp had a forum too?) And just make it a habit to log at the begin of the day. Takes mess than five minutes once you get your food base built up!
You can do it!!

I was on the forums for beach body when I initially started but it is all coaches looking for business and not a real community. I'm going to go looking for those forums now...

I was on the forums for beach body when I initially started but it is all coaches looking for business and not a real community. I'm going to go looking for those forums now... I feel the same about the beachbody boards. I'm on Sparkpeople, but their forums/community boards are hard to navigate. I started my actual plan of better eating last night: "stir fried" (just a touch of sesame oil) chicken, cabbage, onion, and mexican squash with brown rice. I had leftovers today, and it was DELICIOUS. Not sure what's for dinner tonight. Workouts are having to wait while I get ready for my performance this weekend, but we're changing rooms in the house to accommodate a new roommate that's moving in on Friday, so there will be lots and lots of stair climbing and moving things.
