This forum discussion has singlehandedly restored my faith in humanity. This is such a thoughtful and respectful political discussion. I love it!
I'm obviously a Hillary supporter. But, for real...I think she has the most experience and knowledge to actually get shit done. That being said, Bernie is such a progressive inspiration. I would vote for him in a second.

I'm a registered Dem (Social Worker and female so it's a no brainer) and DH is Rep but this year the clown car of fools that the republicans have as candidates has made it tough for him to even think of voting. He skipped the primary. I had him do the "I side with" quiz and violla! He got Bernie, LOL!! I have been doing some work (on the DL- he doesn't even realize) on getting him to move down the spectrum to the left a little- he actually listens to NPR every day now and has completely quit watching Fox news. He read up on Bernie after he had originally believed that Bernie was a millionaire who worked on Wall St. (Wrong- I made him google). I also had him study up on the Bernie tax plan (since he does out finances) and what it would actually mean for us and it made no difference what so ever in what we pay for taxes and may actually save us money because of the high cost we pay for my employers health plan. He's even been changing the channel with the Republicans are on TV and was disgusted this week when NC passed their super discriminatory legislation. He may not actually vote Dem but he won't be voting Rep so we won't cancel each other out. I predict that with a few more years together he may vote Dem. www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjbv6f07N7LAhWISyYKHWU_C6QQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.buzzfeed.com%2Fkmallikarjuna%2Fways-to-silence-the-haters-as-told-by-louise-belcher&psig=AFQjCNEu-JRyi5088LT3LUkzdiTo-zVjiw&ust=1459098816636453

FH and I got to see Jane Sanders on Tuesday. Nobody ever comes to Maui so it was such a treat! She mostly did Q&A with the crowd, and I loved loved loved her vibe. The crowd mostly asked questions that had obvious answers - "What's Bernie'd stance on maternity leave?" etc. So perhaps it wasn't that informative for me, but it was awesome to be there with her. Plus we got a free pizza on the way home because FH still had his Feel the Bern sticker on!

Today was the Hawaii Democratic primary! I had to wait over two hours to vote, but it was worth it! #feelthebern

Yay! He won Hawaii! Now we have to make sure the super pacs vote the way we want not the way they are already 'promised'....

Does anyone know why only 40ish of Washington's 110 delegates have been assigned? Is there something about the state's procedures that I'm not understanding?

This is the first election where I've gotten into the process prior to the general election so it is all new to me.

They do not have to vote based on what the constituents want.part of the reason many people are against the electoral college. It's bullshit..

No. Twice.
Not superpacs, you mean super delegates. These are individuals, and their votes can be changed until the caucus this summer. They tend to side with the popular vote, so if Bernie takes the lead, they'll shift their votes to him.
And no, that's not what I'm referring to. Washington has 110 standard delegates, but not all of them have been assigned.

I hate all of the candidates. I know it was a funny joke a few months ago, but Kanye 2020 being moved up to 2016 would shake things up lol.

I had to really look to find the explanation for this-Washington has some incredibly convoluted system. Apparently the rest of the delegates are assigned in a few weeks based on results in each individual voting district??? So we won't know how many delegates Hillary and Bernie really got for a while. It's ridiculous how these individual states have to make primaries so freaking complicated.
But it has nothing to do with superdelegates. That's a whole separate thing (and rant if I let myself get started)...

Ya Washington is weird. For the regular election they do mail in ballots and vote in advance. They usually declare a winner before they stop taking ballots too.

Thanks, richard. I found that answer too. Had to read like 4 different articles before I was actuality able to understand! Convoluted indeed!
